چکیده
It is important to avoid the overestimation of absorption due scattering when using spectroscopy measure samples. We approached this issue by placing sample inside an integrating sphere (IS) collect scattered light in all solid angles but encountered difficulty determining coefficient from absorbance because took various paths IS and sample. Therefore, ray tracing Monte Carlo simulations (MC), we estimated relationship between absorption, scattering, anisotropy coefficients, measured absorbance. Scattering M, prepared mixing polystyrene microspheres with trypan blue solution, pure solution for comparison were used as samples at concentrations. MC reproduced measurement results spectrum its concentration dependence 591 nm up limit value. In addition, saturated M was lower than that solution. This because, distribution distance d, passed through MC, more smaller d detected higher concentration, resulting a increase coefficient.

Introduction:In PET imaging, one or both of two annihilation photons may change the direction before reaching the detector due to Compton scattering interaction in body. .Methods:This article, a Monte Carlo simulation study, examined the effect of soft tissue on this error. In this work, the PET BiographTM 6 scanner, a simple geometry of soft tissue -including a sphere of soft tissue in center ...
متن کاملMinimising contributions from scattering in infrared spectra by means of an integrating sphere.
Mid-infrared spectra of biological matter such as tissues or microbial and eukaryotic cells measured in a transmission-type optical setup frequently show strongly distorted line shapes which arise from mixing of absorption and scattering contributions. Scattering-associated distorted line shapes may considerably complicate the analysis and interpretation of the infrared spectra and large effort...

متن کاملMonte Carlo simulation of photon scattering in biological tissue models.
Monte Carlo simulation of photon scattering, with and without abnormal tissue placed at various locations in the rectangular, semi-circular and semi-elliptical tissue models, has been carried out. The absorption coefficient of the tissue considered as abnormal is high and its scattering coefficient low compared to that of the control tissue. The placement of the abnormality at various locations...
